I am an Assistant Professor in the Sociology Department at University of California, Berkeley.
My areas of interest include medical sociology, sociology of reproduction, economic sociology, gender and sexuality, sociology of the family, and science and technology studies. I use qualitative methods.
My research has been published in American Sociological Review, Journal of Health and Social Behavior, Social Science & Medicine, Socio-Economic Review and Sociological Forum.
My work has been covered by the New York Times Magazine, The Atlantic, Wired, and other media outlets.
My book Gambling on Fertility is under contract with University of Chicago Press.
